The English language version is currently available for licensing to the World excluding Africa: In 1979, CAPAB invites award-winning Dutch director Hermanus de Jong to South Africa to stage a musical adaptation of the Oedipus myth, with catastrophic consequences. In January of 1999, a documentary filmmaker discovers archival footage of the process. He tracks down the original cast and creates a documentary about the events that led to that fateful opening night in 1979. It is almost (omit almost) 40 years later, but for the artists captured in this documentary, the events are still ingrained in their memories as the night that changed the South African theatre landscape forever.
