Set in one of South Africa’s most popular tourist destinations, Waterfront is a complex family drama full of twists and turns.
After the death of their father, three sisters return to Waterfront to deal with the family business and the inheritance. Secrets begin to unravel as sibling rivalry and gentrification take centre stage.
This hit drama is led by an all-star cast, including legendary South African actor, Dawid Minnaar, star of Fiela se Kind, Binnelanders, Legacy and much more. He is joined by the likes of Rolanda Marais (Silwerskermfees award-winning star of Poppie Nongena), Milan Murray (Die Byl), Trix Vivier (Trackers, Fynskrif and Die Boekklub) and Albert Pretorius (Die Seemeeu, Kanarie).
Waterfront is produced by Marche Media, the award-winning company behind major South African feature films like SAFTA-winning drama Poppie Nongena, SAFTA-winning musical drama Kanarie and Die Seemeeu. The production company is also behind multiple hit television shows such as Die Byl, Dwaalster, Die Spreeus and the highly popular reality show, Boer Soek ’n Vrou.
SAFTA-nominated director, Jaco Bouwer, known for his work on Die Spreeus, Dwaalster as well as a myriad of award-winning South African theatre productions, is the director behind this series. He had a very specific plan for the series, stating “I don’t think we’ve seen something like Waterfront on local TV.”
