Now in its 12th Season Tinsel is a long-running Nigerian soap that has kept its large fanbase entertained and intrigued since 2008. What makes this series attractive to schedulers is that viewers can pick up the story from almost any season of this well-crafted, long-running series.

Based on two opposing production houses seeking to dominate the box-office at the expense of its rival, Tinsel is full of drama.

Tinsel has grown into a highly-successful soap, not only in its native country, but across the whole of Africa. The series offers audiences all the necessary elements that would be expected of a soap, executed at the highest level. Drama, scandal, forbidden romance, betrayal, success and heartbreak, Tinsel has it all.

The show sees high social engagement across the African continent with one fan tweeting “I'm crazy about #AMTinsel, S/O to the cast and crew of the best African soapie.”

The show centres around Fred Ade-Williams, the charismatic yet mysterious founder of Nigeria’s most successful independent film industry, ‘Reel Studios.’ His comfortable dominance of the industry gets disrupted however when Brenda ‘Nana’ Mensah comes onto the scene.

Her determination to lift her own film company, ‘Odyssey Pictures’, to greater heights becomes an immediate threat to Fred. He naturally aims to not only maintain his own success, but also hinder the success of his rival. The audience will be enthralled as the beautiful, daring and highly intelligent Brenda, welcomes the challenge.

Tinsels ongoing popularity can also be attributed to the stellar cast that have since become Nigerian celebrity royalty. Ultimately, series creator Yinka Ogun’s story exceeded all expectations and is an undisputed TV Soap success.
