In recent times, what has set M-Net and essentially MultiChoice apart, has been our local productions, either fully commissioned, co-produced with other partners or local adaptations of formats.
At M-Net, we pride ourselves in the quality of our locally produced shows as this has opened up a global world of partnerships to us, working with other networks and broadcasting partners. Notable partners are HBO, Fremantle, Keshet, ZDFE and many others. We strongly believe in nurturing local talent such as writers, directors and showrunners.
As South Africans we are proud of telling our own stories and sending that out into the world to further flourish as so many other territories have done before us. We are the leading African storyteller and we will continue to invest in local content to ensure that we remain the world leader in African stories.
During these difficult times, our audience values local content even more. It is a privilege to tell our own stories and reflect our lived experience as a country to our audience because it is in telling those stories that we navigate and understand our humanity and our “Africaness”.
