He lives
After spending what felt like an eternity looking for answers about her husband, Samantha is floored by the news that her husband, in fact, faked his death and moved to Botswana due to severe allegations of corruption within the firm he started.
A complicated affair
Samantha notices that her house is being monitored and decides that the best way to approach the situation is to befriend the investigator. However, she could never have predicted that she would then fall in love with him. This results in a complicated affair with tonnes of ups and downs which ultimately end when he confesses to have committed fraud to frame her.
Everyone vs Sam
Throughout season one, we learn just how much was done to ensure that Sam would be sent to prison. Jason confesses that he was behind Sam’s husband’s disappearance after he realized that no amount of legal assistance would get Adrian out of the mess he created. Instead, he helped him to fake his death. If that wasn’t enough, Yvette, who is in love with Adrian, hit the final nail in the coffin to send Sam to jail, by making false transactions from her computer.
