The hit drama offers a unique way of showing how much life can change in a single year and how the small joys and painful events shape us, push us, and bring us together.
Een keer om die son is the first series by husband-and-wife duo Ivan Botha and Donnalee Roberts, who also plays a leading role in the show. The couple previously teamed up to make three films. Pad na jou hart won the Silverskerm Festival Prize for Best Film in 2015 and Stroomop won Best Feature Film at WorldFest Houston in addition to earning two SAFTA wins. Their latest film, Blindelings, was nominated for several awards at this year’s SAFTAs and won Best Achievement in Sound Design.
The show features a stellar cast including Jacques Bessenger (Koek, Donkerbos), Jana Kruger (Wyfie, Fynskrif), Albert Maritz (Invictus, Trompoppie, Alles Malan), Bennie Fourie (Hotel, Fynskrif), and multi-award-winning legend of stage and screen, Antoinette Louw (Dam, White Lies, Spoorloos).
